Rome

18/2/2019

During December Rome is a hell of a lot less busy than the summer. However, the weather was also a lot better than England currently. This city had been on my bucket list for a long time due to my love of Romans as a child. This city lived up to my expectation due to its abundance of history and culture. It seems there is a historic site down every road and around every corner. Check out the details of the trip below.

When I think of Italy I think of Rome, pizza and amazing architecture. However, Italy has so much more to offer. This feature shows the explosive side to southern Italy. Exploring Sicily and the volcanic islands around it. Not to fear the Romans still make their way into this piece. Click the button below to read more.

The reason behind my visit to Berlin was because I wanted to see my favourite artist (Ben Howard) play, and Lollapalooza Festival Berlin was the only date I could make this year. I decided to arrive in Berlin a few days before the festival to explore the German capital and I am very glad I did. The city is full of history and culture and the festival was amazing. Edinburgh

What to say about Edinburgh? Well, first and foremost it is a 3-dimensional city. Most capitals worth their salt are a bit flat, but Edinburgh has high hills and crags mixed into the very fabric of the town, hills that are still wild and natural, providing a great counterpoint to the grand historic urban development. Every though about a trip to Newcastle?
"There are many great northern English cities, but Newcastle has got to be my favourite. It's not a place you would go for your annual summer holiday...actually I take that back as it is on the doorstep of Northumberland, probably England's finest county: castles, coastline, nature, islands, cathedrals, never-ending history"

As many of my friends and family already know, in under two weeks I will be flying to Nigeria, doing charity work and living in a host home for three months. I have started a new blog to share the experience with you all. The first entry explains how I enrolled in the program and what I had to do to get to this point. Also attached is a packing list I have made inspired by the many lists I have been looking through all day. If you think I have missed something let me know!
Check out the new blog and keep an eye on it over the summer!

Antarctica to me feels like a destination that is out of reach and out of this world. However, after receiving these fantastic photos and story, it is a place that I am going to make sure I get to. I never thought there would be much to see that close to the arctic circle, but I have been proven wrong it is a stunning landscape full of incredible creatures.
