Iceland, my 100th Country- It took 12 years in the making and whilst travel comes in all distances, I flew the extra distance, approximately 20,000 kms (Australia to Iceland) to celebrate this special milestone. I was touched by the natural beauty of this island, all the elements worked perfectly in harmony, from volcanic lava fields to geyser, to soothing hot springs to ice caves. I was especially mesmerised by the natural beauty of Iceland’s crystal ice caves located at Vatnajokull National Park (these ice caves may soon be gone to rising temperatures). I had chased the Northern lights during my week long trip, and saw glimpses of the solar flares, but in the hours before embarking on a marathon long haul flight back home, veils of pink, green, white lights twirled and danced above me putting on the most breath-taking light display.
