The Mont Rebei Gorge

10/7/2019

The Monrebei gorge is located between the provinces of Huesca and Lerida. The Gorge is the narrowest part of the river Noguera Ribagorzana, which forms the natural border between Huesca and Lerida (Catalonia and Aragon). The river cuts through the Montges mountain range. Creating vertically falling walls of more than 500 meters and a width of at least 20 meters. The Catalan area is part of the Natural Reserve of La Noguera. This is within the Area of Natural Interest of the Sierra del Montsec.
This is a fantastic place in Spain for outdoor activities such as mountaineering, hiking, and you can kayak on the river. If you want to go hiking, there are several paths, the easiest way takes 3 hours each way, while the hardest from 12 hours.

You must remember always to be dressed appropriately for the time of year and activities. You can Kayak for 18 kilometres downriver, which you can rent at the gorge or bring your own with you. This place is very popular, for this reason, it is recommended to reserve parking. However you can also get transport from nearby cities: Ager, Montfalco, San de Esteban de la Sarga, Tremp. I suggested bringing such things with you: water, sunscreen, sun glasses, and once again water.

It is a stunning place to stay. Where you can enjoy Spanish nature, and it’s
beauty.

I recommend this place if you are planning a trip to Spain, as it will be a nice break from city life.

When you are here, you will be able to experience both the calming nature and impressive mountians. Here you'll be able to understand how diverse Spain is and how it can surprise you. It's my lovely place in Catalonia.

Such a fantastic place with a very nice view. Being quarantine in a month now makes me think or rather dream about going to beautiful places and enjoy it with my family and friends. I imagine talking, playing and eating with them under the shadow of the clouds while smelling the fresh water of the ocean. I miss going outside, I miss seeing people, I miss the normal things that people usually do. Because of this Corona Virus, everything stopped. Many people live in fear, many humans are sick and some even died. I'm just fortunate enough to be with my family during the lockdown. I don't mind staying at home, I just hope and pray that many people survive this pandemic disease.

We rely on travellers from all around the world to record their travels and send them in so that we can share and connect them with people interested in travelling or to those wanting to know more about that certain destination. (please get in contact if you have a trip you would like to share)

Myself (Alex Hood) and the head journalist of the site (Elly Babe) also share our own travel experience for others to enjoy and be inspired by. We both study English Literature at the University of Brighton and love the way in which the site has allowed us to put in to practice what we have learn't on our degree.  We will be moving to Athens for a study year so expect lost of content from Greece. Any advice or tips are always welcome.
