Following on from our last updated post regarding the corona virus, we would firstly just like to let everyone know we are healthy and safe in Athens and are abiding by the rules in place here in Greece. These last couple of weeks have been filled with zoom calls with family and friends, PS4 games for Alex, walks and runs out in the parks and some university work thrown into the mix (as I’m sure many of you can relate to). Although, this doesn’t seem like a lot of things to be doing, all of it has been keeping us sane … the interactions and quiz nights have been something we count down to so that we can have a beer online with our family, and the walks have been helping us get out of our heads and enjoy what nature has to offer. So, with all these little things added into the calendar our lockdown is seemingly going alright and the days are passing by that little bit easier. With Greece now suggesting that we could be coming out of lockdown on the 27th April/ beginning of May (due to them isolating everyone pretty early on) we are looking forward to our future adventures in Greece as we’re hopeful that we will be able to end our Erasmus on a high note. With that being said, we did make a new discovery this week in the form of a roof top. For 8 months we have been living under a perfectly accessible and safe roof top terrace in which we can study on, enjoy the sun and watch the sunset from the comfort of our own building. This has definitely lifted our moods as we are now capable of being outside without leaving our building. Our plan for the next few weeks is stay inside, relax with our cats and wait for this to pass in hope that we will be able to travel in our final month in this beautiful country. We hope that all our friends & family are staying safe during this difficult time and that everyone is taking this seriously so that we can all be released from the lockdown soon.
