Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki (Salonica) is the second biggest town of Greece, population of 1500000. Founded by Kassandros in 316 BC! The town has a beautiful long sea front where the pedestrians can enjoy walkin gright next to the waters of the Thermaikos bay.
The sea front is extra long, at least 8 kilometers in length. It also has an old part of the upper town which is full of traditional houses, on the hill of Akropolis area from where anyone can see the most beautiful view, of the panoramic site of town and the bay !

On a clear day you can admire the famous Olympus mountain home of the 12 Greek mythological gods !! At the center of Thessaloniki there is a very large market area of food, clothes, malls and tourist shops! The monument of the White Tower is a part of the Byzantine wall which is the symbol of the town! During the Ottoman Empire it was a jail, now a days it’s a museum about the history of the town.

All over the center there are many Byzantine Churches. One of them is Agios Demitrios (st Demitrios) it honors the protector saint of the city! There are many restaurants, cafe places and bars where you can enjoy your Ouzo (Greek spirit) and your "meze" (a nice Ouzo delightful plate with feta cheese, olives, and tzatziki etc etc) looking towards the sea and the life of Thessaloniki.

Please be aware of the Greek way of driving it’s dangerous! No rules are obeyed! But the people are very warm and hospitable! So there many reasons to visit this amazing place!
